LIFE

Life is like a drop of water,
every drip fills your life.

Life is like a blooming flower,
when your life gets better.

Life is like a roller coaster,
when your life gets bumpy.

Life is like a butterfly,
at first it isn’t perfect, but it’ll slowly become one.

Life is like a mountain,
at first it’s tiring, but when you reach on top, it’s worth it.

Life is like you and me,
because it’s what we go through every single day.

We Grow

It is unbelievable how we grow up. Especially when these growing ups lead to so many changes in our lives. It is uncanny how opportunities arise; how somebody else would find something that you’ve lost.

I’ve lost a lot, and while these mortifications happened to me, I see a whole new chapter of my previous chagrin in another’s life.

Then, I just realize that maybe growing up and moving on isn’t bad after all.
I feel that when one searches enough, the world will give us a break; and if we can continue searching with confidence, we’ve grown and changed.

And I understand
We grow.

JAPAN EARTHQUAKE - MARCH 2011

IAEA Briefing on Fukushima Nuclear Emergency (19 March 2011, 14:00 UTC)

On Saturday, 19 March 2011, Graham Andrew, Special Adviser to the IAEA Director General on Scientific and Technical Affairs, briefed both Member States and the media on the current status of nuclear safety in Japan. His opening remarks, which he delivered at 14:00 UTC at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, are provided below:

1. Current Situation
The situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants is similar to that which I described yesterday.
Efforts to restore electrical power to the site continue. It is hoped that power will be restored to Unit 2 today, which will then act as a hub for restoring power to Unit 1. However, we do not know if the water pumps have been damaged and if they will work when power is restored.

Seawater is still being injected into the reactor pressure vessels of Units 1 and 2 and additional fire trucks have arrived, reinforcing the operation to spray water into the Unit 3 reactor building.

We still lack reliable validated data on water levels and temperatures at the spent fuel pools at Units 3 and 4.

Temperatures at the spent fuel pools in Units 5 and 6 have risen in the past few days but this does not give rise to immediate concern. Water continues to be circulated within the reactor pressure vessels and the spent fuel ponds at both units.
A second diesel generator is providing power for cooling at Units 5 and 6. We have been informed that holes have been made in the roof of the reactor building at Units 5 and 6 to avoid the risk of a hydrogen explosion.

2. Radiation Monitoring
Radiation levels in major Japanese cities have not changed significantly since yesterday.
The IAEA radiation monitoring team took measurements at seven different locations in Tokyo and in the Kanagawa and Chiba Prefectures. Dose rates were well below those which are dangerous to human health.

The monitoring team are now on their way to Aizu Wakamatsu City, which is 97 km west of the Fukushima nuclear power plant. They have just provided initial measurements from three additional locations.

Measurements made by Japan in a number of locations have shown the presence of radionuclides - ie isotopes such as Iodine-131 and Caesium-137 - on the ground.
This has implications for food and agriculture in affected areas. The IAEA and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) are consulting with the Japanese authorities on measures being taken in these areas related to food and agriculture.

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has announced that radiation levels that exceeded legal limits had been detected in milk produced in the Fukushima area and in certain vegetables in Ibaraki. They have requested the Bureau of Sanitation at the Fukishima Prefectural Office, after conducting an investigation of the relevant information, to take necessary measures, such as identifying the provider of these samples and places where the same lots were distributed and banning sales based on the Food Hygiene Law. (Note: The text originally read out at the briefing was: "The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare informed the Agency that radiation levels exceeding legal limits had been detected in milk produced in the Fukushima area and in certain vegetables in Ibaraki. The Ministry ordered protective measures including a ban on sales of these products." An oral correction was made during the media briefing.)

We now have continuous online access to data from CTBTO radionuclide monitoring stations, which is being evaluated by Agency dosimetry specialists.
As far as the Fukushima Daini nuclear power plant is concerned, there is no record of any incidents or radiation releases at the site. Present elevated radiation levels at the Daini site are attributed by Japan to events at the Daiichi nuclear power plant.

3. Agency Activities
The Director General has left Tokyo for Vienna after meetings with senior government leaders and officials from the plant operator TEPCO.
As you know, he plans to brief the Board of Governors on Monday on the outcome of his trip.

ITS JUST A WORD, THANKS!!!

Lama aku tak menulis, busy.. Memang busy tak ingat!!! Biasalah, it doesn’t mean that I’m not a fulltime employees, aku tak busy kan?

TERIMA KASIH (Bahasa Melayu), THANK YOU / THANKS (Kalau la kot2 rasa thank you tu panjang sgt, thanks pun boleh terima la), SYUKRAN (Arab), (siea-siea – Chinese), धन्यवाद (Hindi… kot-kot korang ada keturunan Shah Rukh Khan kan…)

Cukuplah yg basic-basic kan... Kang nanti korang terperanjat lak tengok banyak sangat bahasa yang aku tahu. Tapi aku rasa, kalau macam Japanees Languange & French tu yang basic-basic aku ingat lagi la... Aku masa sekolah dulu kat MOZAC (Science Muzaffar) ada offer Arabic & French, and masa attached dengan MVC Management Services (Mid Valley City), semua staff kena masuk class Japanees, Mandrin, etc...

Ok, aku bukan la nak bagitahu satu dunia yang aku belajar banyak bahasa. Apa yang aku nak bagitahu, aku rasa umat Malaysia nie, terutama Melayu, bangsa aku sendiri, yang sepatutnya kaya dengan budi bahasa nie, amat la payah nak cakap TERIMA KASIH. Tak payah lah nak nafikan, memang penyakit nie dah berjangkit and virus nie bukan jer menyakitkan hati orang yang menolong, tapi buat orang yang tolong kita tu menyumpah-nyumpah sambil dalam hati berkira-kira..; “lepas nie memang aku tak kuasa nak tolong lagi”...

Aku dulu pun macam tu jugak. Al-maklumlah kan, aku dulu-dulu kerja dengan company bangsa yang satu tu (nama company tu pun dia letak nama dia sendiri...). kat situ ada satu Director nie memang kiasu giller. Dia pun dulu-dulu asalnya secretary cabuk jer, tapi sebab dia nie pandai manipulate la, dia bertahan lama (tapi last-last kena terminate gaks, tapi lepas dia dah kaya-raya la)..

So, aku dah mula berterima kasih dengan orang, even mak cik cleaner...

Sebenarnya, dah dekat seminggu aku panas hati dengan seorang mamat nie, yang perasan bagus sungguh. Dia nie lagi muda daripada aku, tapi mak bapak dia kaya raya la. Aku ada terima satu jemputan, bila orang dah jemput, aku datang la. Sehari sebelum hari kejadian tu, aku terima sms dari mamat poyo nie. Dia mintak tolong kat aku, merayu-rayu, mintak aku jadi notes / report taker untuk event dia. Ala-ala secretary la tu.. Amat terlalu last minutes, dan terus mematikan keterujaan aku nak pergi event tu.

Masa event tu, banyak kali la pulak dia sound-sound aku... kejap-kejap dia cakap, “kak, jangan lupa ambik reports”... “kak, lepas nie I tak tulis kat white board dah”...  Ye la dik oii, tulisan kau pun bukannya cantik sangat. Sumpah aku tak paham esp kau punya short terms tu.. Tak menggambarkan business terms langsung!!!

Event tu bukan sejam dua yer korang, event tu sehari suntuk... Sakit jugak jiwa aku, tapi dek kerana husband aku ada sama, aku layan jer la. Tetiba, section lepas kunch, before tea-break, ada someone nie tanya aku, “eh, you notes taker ker?” Aku dengan muka muncung, senyum jer la, tapi nampak sangat la senyum tu senyum terpaksa...

Event tu habis dalam pukul 10 malam. Sampai rumah, aku memang penat giller, terus tido. Event tu hari Sabtu, dan hari Ahad tu, memang la hari aku bersantai satu family... Idak la aku jengah pun report yang disuruhnya aku buat tu kan...

Hari Isnin aku kena out of my lappy, pergi menjengah Xbites kat UKM. “Kak, possible to submit the report by today? Need it ASAP”

Dan replied from me, “Im out today, kalau sempat, esok la”

Malam tu aku meroyan dengan husband aku, dekat 10 kali aku ulang ayat nie, “Dah la mintak tolong, nak push-push pulak”

Tengah malam pukul 1am aku sent email kat mamat poyo tu. Esoknya, aku tunggu-tunggu gak la, kot-kot dia reply email aku. Masa nak mintak tolong tu, bukan main lagi, kejap2 SMS, kejap-kejap call... Biasa la kan, gaya orang nak mintak tolong!!!

Lepas nie, jangan kau harap aku nak pegi kau punya event, nasib kau lah labu!!!

Nilai murni - Ucapan TERIMA KASIH tidak memerlukan kita untuk mengeluarkan walau sesen pun tapi, bukan semua orang mampu melakukannya... Harap-harap, kita tidak tergolong dalam golongan itu...
